We thank you for considering a visit to Greater Buffalo Niagara!
With over a million people in the Greater Buffalo Niagara region, we boast a robust LGBTQ++ community. Our Buffalo Pride Festival celebration occurs at the end of May/early June, culminating in our Pride Parade the First Sunday of June down Elmwood Avenue from Buffalo State University to Buffalo's defacto Gaybourhood of Allentown.
We love our local sports teams, and our culinary contributions to the world in the form of Chicken Wings, Beef on Kummelweck and Sponge Candy. In addition, our community has a strong nightlife presence with many bars, nightclubs and taverns open to as late as 4:00am. Also, the restaurant scene is vibrant, and if you can figure out a cuisine, there's a good chance we have a restaurant that offers it!
The Greater Buffalo Niagara area is also nearby and a short drive (<4 hours) from other major cities such as Toronto, Hamilton, St. Catharines and Niagara Falls in Canada; Pittsburgh or Cleveland, Erie, Fredonia and Dunkirk to the west and south, and Albany, Schenectady, Amsterdam, Utica, Rome, Syracuse, Rochester and Batavia to the east. The Town of Fort Erie has their Fort Erie Pride Festival at the Fort Erie Leisureplex at the end of June. In addition, multiple other Pride Festivals (Lockport, Niagara Falls and Hamburg, among others) are held in the area.
Please find below information on questions you may ask before planning a trip to our area. This information is provided as a guide only. Please check with the respective agencies to confirm information.

Local Transit
The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority's NFTA-Metro system operates a comprehensive bus and light rail subway system in the Greater Buffalo Niagara region.
Of interest (if you gotta get a trip to Niagara Falls in one of the days), a day-trip to Niagara Falls can be made by utilizing the 40-Grand Island/Niagara Falls (Daily/Hourly) or 77-Niagara Falls Express (Weekday only/Hourly) from the Metropolitan Transportation Center in Downtown Buffalo (Inter-city Bus Terminal). Fare paid onboard is $2.00 (exact change) or $5.00 for a day pass.
Most City of Buffalo, City of Niagara Falls and suburban local routes operate daily but may have less frequent service on weekends. Express buses generally operate 1-2 trips weekdays to Downtown in the morning, and 1-2 trips outbound weekday afternoons.

Inter-City Rail
Amtrak has three local stations; Downtown Buffalo (BFX), Dick Road-Depew (BUF) and Niagara Falls (NIA).
All stations are serviced daily by Amtrak Empire Service, however, the only train not servicing BFX or NIA stations is the Lake Shore Limited service between New York Penn Station and Chicago. The closest station in relation to downtown Buffalo for this train is the Dick Road (Depew) station.
The Maple Leaf operates from Toronto as a Via Rail Canada train, changing crews to an Amtrak crew prior to crossing the border at Niagara Falls.
