Why did Darrin B. join the Buffalo Bulldogs?
"The camaraderie and brotherhood is second to none. I've been members of various clubs over time and really appreciate the welcoming nature of the Buffalo Bulldogs. We're close knit, and my brothers make one feel welcome from day one when meeting them.
One of my favorite times with the Bulldogs is at Jones Pond, during the Jones Pond Leather Weekend. Learning new things within the BDSM fetish genres is exciting, and sitting down breaking bread with them is one of my favorite times at the campgrounds with them.
Additionally, the club realizes the fetish scene is diverse and welcomes members that might not just be "all about leather". They welcome differences when people (like myself) also appreciate rubber, uniforms and other similar interests."
A Brief (or maybe not so brief) Glimpse at Darrin
Rejoining the Buffalo Bulldogs in May of 2023, Darrin is happy to be back with his leather brothers.
Warning: this guy is a GEAR HEAD. When Darrin finds unique gear, he gets it. He has an extensive collection of all sorts of gear, in leather, rubber boots and waders, sneakers, headgear and undergear. Interesting fact: Darrin at one time had one of the largest collections of Converse All⭐Star high tops, x-high and xx-highs. A good majority of them were also custom made.
In his free time, Darrin likes to hike at the Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge. With that being said, the Bulldogs introduced him to camping, in which he has attended the Jones Pond Leather Weekend in August every year. As mentioned above, Darrin appreciates the camaraderie during the weekend.
He also likes to travel. He has visited the cities of Chicago, Washington, New York City and Philadelphia. He has also travelled overseas to the Republic of Ireland, and had the pleasure of visiting Dublin, Kilkenny and Malahide. Some of his favorite locations that he likes to return to is the anthracite region of Pennsylvania (in Shendandoah, Darrin has a close friend and travelling partner), Gettysburg, Philadelphia and Toronto.
Don't get Darrin wrong, he still loves the Buffalo area as his home. When he has friends visit, he is proud to take them to some iconic local landmarks, including Niagara Falls, the Erie Basin Marina, the Buffalo Central Terminal (for the architecture), and the Elmwood Village.
For hobbies, Darrin is self-described as an expert in passenger rail history, with an extensive knowledge of the former International Railway Co. in Buffalo and its former streetcar system. He uses his expertise to write on a transportation-related wiki.
Darrin also likes to spend a lot of time fiddling around on the computer, this being instrumental in a major refresh of the club website you now see.
Darrin enjoys photography. Three photos of his were accepted and showcased by the Gettysburg Foundation on their website during an amatuer photographer contest a number of years ago.
Darrin loves to cook and thanks his late mother for making him comfortable in the kitchen. One of his strong points in the kitchen is trying to make sure every ingredient is prepared for use ahead of time, he dislikes chopping and slicing when there's stuff to watch on the stove and cleans as he goes. Even in his own kitchen, if he has time to lean, he has time to clean.
He probably also has one of the most extensive cookbook references out there. His favorite food-related celebrities include Ree Drummond, Paula Deen, Merideth Laurence (Blue Jean Chef) and David Venable (QVC).
Favorite foods? Thai, Chinese, Korean, Indian, Italian, Polish, German. Least liked foods? Fish. He is though, open minded to many different and emerging cuisines, usually being up to trying at least once.
For music? Darrin has a very open liking of varied music genres. He has seen Pink, Depeche Mode, the Proclaimers, Mary J. Blige, Pat Benatar and some others in concert. Lately he's been listening to Post Malone, Morgan Wallen, and listens mainly to WKSE-FM in Buffalo .
Pet peeves? Others being late with lack of communication. This includes sitting in doctors offices.
